Kristina Schmidt-Köhnlein, born in 1974, studied economic education in Leipzig and holds a degree als "Diplom-Handelslehrerin" (2000).
She worked as a teacher and as a trainer in the vocational education and training system and qualified trainees in business and commercial subjects.
At the institute of vocational education and work studies she focuses her attention on vocational choice and occupational orientation in faculty as well as in research. In her thesis she analyses relationships and institutions on the job market for training positions by the theory of the new institutional economics as an important part of occupational orientation. Since 2007 she has been leading the project "work studies-wiki".
