Dr. Christoph Harrach

Christoph Harrach studied business administration in Wiesbaden and holds the related diploma (college of higher education).

As founder and managing director of KarmaKonsum he inspires people and markets in the area of sustainable lifestyles and responsible economic activities.

As co-editor of two studies on the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS), he marked this term in the German-speaking area. The KarmaKonsum conference which is organised by him and takes place every year in Frankfurt, promotes the dialogue between science and practice as well as between eco-pioneers and a new, sustainability-oriented generation.

From 2011 until 2014 Christoph Harrach worked as research assistant in the project „Live and work sustainably [3]“, which is funded by the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU). Since April 2015 he has been working as research assistant in the project „Integrating Employees as Consumers into Sustainability Innovation Processes (IMKoN) [4]“ which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

In his PhD thesis Christoph Harrach examines the general conditions under which sustainability-oriented employees can effectively implement their private values, attitudes and behaviour at their workplace and what benefits to the companies are created by this empowerment.
