Zur Person

Sonja Geiger studierte Psychologie an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Abschluss Diplompsychologin 2004) und promovierte in Kognitionspsychologie an der Universität Potsdam 2007 mit anschließender Post-Doc-Stelle am Cognitive Science Lab der UWA, Perth Australien.
Den Weg zur Umweltpsychologie beschritt sie mit der mehrjährigen Mitarbeit in der NRO „Amigos de la tierra“ (FOEI Argentina) in Buenos Aires, Argentinien, wo sie zwischen 2008 und 2012 wohnte und ihre Erfahrungen zu Umweltproblematiken in Südamerika in einem ersten umweltpsychologischen Forschungsprojekt an der UBA (Universidad de Buenos Aires) einbrachte.
Lehrerfahrung sammelte sie an verschiedenen Hochschulen zwischen 2011 und 2014 (UIA, Buenos Aires, SRH Berlin) in sozial-empirischen quantitativen Methoden, Grundlagen der Allgemeinen Psychologie und umweltpsychologischen Kursen zu Nachhaltigkeit und Gesellschaft.

Seit März 2015 ist sie im vom BMBF geförderten „Bildung für Nachhaltigen Konsum durch Achtsamkeitstraining“ (BiNKA) tätig. Ebenfalls seit März 2015 arbeitet sie am Lehrstuhl für Differentielle Psychologie und psychologische Diagnostik an der Universität Ulm im Reallabor Nachhaltige Transformation der Textilwirtschaft am Standort Dietenheim.
